👥Creating Smart User Groups in Swif!

Device Management will always be a walk in the park when using Swif.

Hello Swif Family,

In the previous update, we introduced the Smart Device Groups to set up your device rules indefinitely. But today, we released a fresh software update to your Swif management sophistication. Tested by Swif themselves, a groundbreaking patch that will re-establish your valuable user experience within the platform!

Jumping straight right into it, featuring for this week is Swif’s Smart User Groups. This product update consists of handling user-based groups in Swif. It simply means that your user rules can be defined according to your device management team's preferences.

So open up your Swif portal today and shift your settings to test out an immersive change to your Device Management user experience. Because if you do it the smart way, unquestionably you’ll do it the Swif way!

Creating Smart User Groups:

To get things started, follow these progressive summarized instructions as you hover into your Swif portal…

➜ Access this feature directly from the employee management menu. We've introduced two types of groups: manual and smart user groups. To create a new user group, click on the "Create new group" button.

Smart user groups automatically add employees based on defined rules, while manual user groups require individual selection. New employees matching set rules are automatically added to smart groups.

Excitingly, user groups are now integrated into our device groups. When creating a new device group, explore the option to add rules based on specific user groups.

Setting Policy with Scale Picker:

Moving forward, we showcase to you another new update for the enhancements made to Swif's Policy scale picker, focusing on creating a new policy…

As you create a new policy, select updates such as password policies for macOS and Windows.

Tailor settings like the number of failed attempts, maximum auto-lock usage, or maximum passcode age, ranging from 0 to 730 days.

Add User Account:

Last but not least, connect with Swif’s new feature and consider creating a new account on a managed device by following these steps…

Navigate to the device inventory page, select your device, and choose to create a new user account, with options for standard or admin permissions.

Fill in the user details, set a password, and click "Create Account." The script executes on the device, and you can monitor progress through the command tab.

After a few minutes, witness the successful creation of your new user account. User login details, including the last login time, are displayed on the Accounts tab.

Voila! That's all there is to creating a new account on your device. For a hands-on experience, follow our video tutorial here! 📽️
